@mrsBtoBee: YIKES! that sounds way early to me. maybe it’s a destination wedding? or destination for some of their guests? either way – that far out seems outlandish to me. yeah, you want to give people time to plan and make arrangements, but i can’t see anyone needing that long!

WOW no that is not normal! That seems way far in advance!!! Where is the wedding? Is it something that is really expensive that lots of people have to save up for ?

I suggest waiting to send out your STD. If you send them almost 2 years ahead of the wedding, I think will forget/lose the STD.

Wow!  We sent ours out really early because we’ve already been engaged for forever and I think people were starting to wonder whether it was really happening 😉  But ours just went out about a week ago–so, just under a year in advance.  Sending now for mid-2012 seems crazy!

Wow! They’re thinking ahead. I personally knew my wedding date two years in advance. We didn’t send out save-the-dates then, but some people send out save-the-dates as soon as they know their wedding date.

That’s almost a waste of an STD – nobody will remember to keep/look at it! They must have been really excited and just jumped the gun :-). We sent ours out 9 months in advance – that seemed like a good time frame, since most of our guests were traveling a long ways for the wedding.

Say what?! I am a mid 2012 bride and I am not even THINKING about Save-The-Date Cards until next year. Is it a destination wedding?

hopefully their budget doesn’t change now that their guest list is set in stone! sending Save-The-Date Cards out that early is just asking for trouble.
