I’m due in March, and I had my shower in November before Thanksgiving (22 weeks ish).  We live in CO now, but all of our friends and family are back in IL.  We were coming back to town for Thanksgiving which we would be the only time we would be back before the baby is due.  So we had the shower then.  No one said anything about it being too early.  It was actually helpful; we knew early on what we needed to buy ourselves.

That’s not too early. I’m due mid-May and I really wanted to have my shower in mid-March, but my Mother-In-Law is busy every weekend that month so I had to settle for April 7. It stresses me out a little that I’ll be so hugely pregnant at the shower and will only have about a month to acquire whatever we still need. I would definitely plan it on the earlier side if I were you.

Im due at the end of June and my family & friend shower is set for the 2nd weekend in April. I wanted time after to finish buying what I needed but didn’t get, wash everything and set it all up. Plus I didn’t want to be hugely uncomfortable.

Have you asked the mom-to-be? Mine is 6 weeks before my due date.  It seems perfect for me but I wouldn’t have wanted it later and too much earlier would have been a bummer because I wouldn’t have had anything else to look forward to besides delivery. 🙂  But everyone is different. Ask her what she wants.
