I wrote on my wedding invites for guests to arrive at 4:30PM. My ceremony is expected to start no later than 5PM. My cocktail hour probably around 5:20pm, and dinner should start around 6:30PM. We plan to cut the cake around 9PM.
What time should I have the cake delivered?? My bakery wanted to do 3-4pm but I told them 4-5pm because my venue would have them set it up right when its delivered so I was worried it might not taste good sitting out so long. I was also concerned now if they come around 4ish that it would get in the way of guests coming…but there is a back entrance to the kitchen so it shouldnt be a problem…
What are you bees doing?! And please vote for me too! Thanks!!!

Well I don’t know the ‘should’ of this. But for me personally, my venue is allowing delivery the evening before, and they are then going to handle the actual setup and cutting. I opted to do this so that it was one less thing to organize on the day of.

My venue was open from 6am that morning and the cake was delivered by 9am even though the reception didnt start til around 6pm. they have a big kitchen and huge fridge so the cake was fine in the fridge.

@MrsBrightSkies: I would if they would do that. But my Venue does not have a refrigerator to hold the cake so it will be laid out immeidately on the cake table..

Trust the bakery since they do this all the time and know when the appropriate setup time is.

I would trust them. Our ceremony was at 5:30 and the cake was suppose to be there by 5. But for some reason she was just leaving the venue at 6pm when all the guests arrived for cocktail hour…so a little early is better IMO
