How far ahead did you change your life style :example stopped smoking, drinking & started taking prenatal vitamins/folic acid?. my Fiance & i will be TTC in April. the first time i was pregnant in 09 i had a miscarriage. & then i got pregnant again a little over a month after my MC. A few weeks into my pregnancy i had a threatened miscarriage & was put on bed rest with lots of blood work done. my body doesnt make enough folic acid & you need it to carry a baby. i was put on 4mg of folic acid pills & now i have a very happy & healthy 2.10yr old daughter. i see my OB on Friday but i was wondering how far ahead you started a healthier life style BEFORE ttc?

I started last year so thats what? 8 years in advance xD well it’s just being healthy, treating your body and self with respect. So when the time is right my body and my then Darling Husband body will be primed for healthy children ^-^

We are planning to TTC in anywhere from 4-10 months (we haven’t decided if we’ll start right after the wedding or wait a fwe months) but I started taking prenatal vitamins about a month ago. I don’t smoke at all and drink sparingly as it is. I also started working out about a monht ago, too.

I started taking the prenatal vitamins about three months before TTC. I was also eating quite healthily in the build-up to my wedding and exercising. Post-honeymoon I’ve been somewhat slack so I need to start doing that again. Don’t smoke and drink only sparingly. The post-work glass of wine is probably the biggest vice. Plus taking up the exercise a bit more.

We started a year ahead, at the sugegstion of our Doctor, I have celiac disease and my Doctor said it would take much longer for my body to start feeling the effects of healthy eating/supplements. We get married in June and have our main honeymoon is September, and will be starting to ttc on honeymoon. We’ve both been taking the conception supplements and trying to be much healthier/exercise more.

I did not change anything except to take a prenatal vitamin every 2-3 days starting a couple months before ttc. Nothing else changed until I got a positive pregnancy test, and now I just take a prenatal almost every day.
