So I just found out three weeks ago that I am pregnant, and we are SO excited! The problem, is that since I have not had a period in close to a year, they arent really sure how far along I am. The took my blood, and checked my levels on a Wednesday, and told me I was about 2/3 weeks, but decided to take more blood two days later to check my levels again, and said this time they think I am about 5-8 weeks along. This is driving me crazy! They scheduled me for an ultrasound at the end of this month, but I am having a hard time waiting. I guess they want to make sure that I am at least 8 weeks when they do the ultrasound….but that is such a long time after my positive blood work.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Well, I’m guessing you were about 4 weeks along when you found out, since you count from your last period (which I realize you didn’t have, but if you had a normal cycle that’s how you count). That would be about two weeks past ovulation. So that would make you about 7 weeks now. You really won’t know how far along you are until your ultrasound, unfortunately!

I was. They checked my levels and told me 5 to 6 weeks. Then another doctor told me more likely I was 8 weeks pregnant, or 5 to 6 weeks with twins. At my ultrasound they measured my baby and I was 10+2. 2 weeks later I went for the nuchal scan and the baby measured up to 5 days older, but the OB said every baby grows at a diffrent rate so we’ll keep the first estimate. She said the first scan is very accurate.
