Please pick the time frame in which you picked names and what “team” you were during the pregnancy.
With your first, how far along were you by the time you had either a boy and a girl name both picked, or just the name you knew you needed picked? I’ve noticed that some people wait until they know the gender, some know before they even conceive, some not until after the baby is born, and various stages in between. I’m just curious as to which is most common.
For us, we had our boy name before conceiving and our girl name a few weeks before the 1st tri was over. We’re team green.

Due in Feb but we are Team Green and we won’t finalize any names until baby is born. We’ll go in with some potentials for each gender but I fully believe that I will have to see the baby to know whether the name fits or not!

We didn’t really think about names seriously until after we found out we are having a girl. We have it narrowed down between Riley and Peyton. I am 22 weeks, and Darling Husband and I are still undecided between the two. We’ll probably end up waiting until she is born, but I want to choose now!

We are team green, so we will be picking after baby’s arrival. My plan is to go into the delivery room with 2-3 names for each gender and to hopefully choose right when we meet him/her! We are both indecisive by nature but we have the list pretty well narrowed here in the second tri.

We had talked about names before we conceived but once we found out about ouro baby we talked more. I think we may have officially chosen a name for both but I will wait until we know the gender to say anything publicly. I think I may change my mind completely once I find out the gender.

We are Team Green, and we have a “frontrunner” picked for each gender, but we also have a handful of alternate possibilities and are waiting until LO is born before we tell family & friends anything about names (beyond a vague “we prefer traditional, classic names.”) I’ve had more than one friend who has had a name all picked out, told people what it was, and then when they met the baby they decided, “Nope, that doesn’t quite fit,” and changed it to something else.

Eh, due anytime and don’t even have a name list at this point 🙁

I’m 23 weeks and we just agreed on a name yesterday. We knew we wanted to wait until after we found out the gender (during our 20 wk ultrasound) and then it took us a bit of time to find a name that we both liked. We do plan to have 2-3 backup names just in case the baby is born and we find it doesn’t suit him, but we’re pretty sure we’ll stick with the one we’ve selected.

My now husband and I starting picking out baby names WAY before we even got engaged! I don’t know … kids are just something we’ve always spoke openly about. I have a list saved in my phone of all the girls and boys name we both like. We are recent newlyweds and want to wait a year to year and a half before TTC … can’t wait !!!

We had 2 names picked out and didn’t actually “finalize” the name until a few hours after he was born. We were team blue.

We had our names picked well in advance. We had Brighton for a girl and Easton for a boy.
however, once we found out we were really team blue, I started freaking out about Easton. I didn’t like how it went with our last name. So we picked alternates and decided on Beckett at 17 weeks.

Pretty much the day before she was born! We had a boy name right away but could not agree on a girl name!

We have had 3 girls names picked out since before we were married, but we are at a loss when it comes to boys names!
We don’t know the gender yet 48 days if little one will show us the goods…if it’s a girl I’m sure we will have a name settled pretty soon after…if it’s a boy who knows when we will have a name picked.
If we were going team green I think we’d pull our hair out, we gave up trying till we know bc it just got to be too much. Why waste time pouring over boys names when it might be a girl?

We have had our boy name picked out for a long time (since before conceiving) because it’s a family name. No girl names picked out though. We’ll wait until after the anatomy scan to start looking at names. No sense in choosing girl names if it ends up being a boy.
We’ll probably also come up with a few other boy name choices, just in case the name we have doesn’t suit our baby if it’s a boy. We don’t believe in naming the baby before he/she arrives.

We’ve been tossing names around for ages because I’ve been a name nerd since I was about 7, but I think it’s hard to definitively name a baby before you see them. We finalised our top picks last week, but we’re not telling loads of people in case they come out looking like something else!
