First baby I was 32 and went into spontaneous labour at 38+6. It was 3;30 on a Sunday afternoon. He was born at 9:32 that evening via a vaginal birth. I’d had a bleed in labour so had to go to labour ward and I pushed too hard and had a third degree tear.

second baby I was 34 and went to 40+2 (incidentally she had the same due date as my son) another spontaneous labour. Started at about 2:30am and we got to the hospital at 4am. This time I got the birth centre and a water birth. She was born at 5:30am. I listened to the midwife this time and no tear.

Baby 1 – never went into labor, no pre-labor symptoms either.  Induced at 41 weeks. 29 years old

Baby 2- no pre-labor, spontaneous contractions started at 5:30am on 40+5 and he was born that night.  32 years old.

My second baby did come earlier than #1. I had a feeling my first wouldn’t come on time and I was right.  You really have no way of telling with your first (I was born a week before my due date so it’s not like I followed my mother at all) but my OB said women whose babies come early tend to keep having babies that come early and women whose babies come late tend to keep having babies that come late.

I had my son at 32 years old. I lost the mucous plug at 40+2, contractions started at 1am on 40+3, baby boy delivered vaginally at 2am on 40+4.

#1: Went into labor at 39+2 around 11pm, baby was born at 4am.

#2: Had my membranes swept at 40+1 at 1pm. Contractions started 45 mins later and were 15-30 mins apart. Around 11pm they started getting painful, and we left for the hospital when they were 10ish mins apart. Got there around 1am, baby arrived at 2am.

Both were unmedicated vaginal deliveries. I was 32 with my first and 35 with my second.

Baby #1: water broke at 38 weeks, was I induced. Baby was born vaginally. I was 30 almost 31. Labor lasted 4.5 hrs.

Baby #2: Spontaneous birth at 37 weeks. Baby was born vaginally. Active labor was like 1.5 hrs at most. I was almost 33.

I’m scared if we have another baby. I got to be ready from first contraction.

Had a couple of days of latent labour a few pains that were far apart but went nowhere. Started properly at 41 + 2, in the hospital at 11pm baby was born at 5:30am. It was a forceps birth due to the baby’s heart rate reducing. I was 38.

My mum went early with her first 2 and on her due date with me, so thought I’d follow her but not to be!!

candy11 :  ditto! We only have 1 and she came so incredibly fast that when I arrived at the hospital the nurse thought I was being over dramatic and then the midwife said “oh shit she’s not overdramatic I can feel the head already!” I was pushing on the gurney as they ran me from triage to a delivery room lol. We’re trying to get pregnant again this summer and between our RE’s office and our midwives my husband has been told several times that he has to be prepared to catch the next one because it’s unlikely we’ll make it to the hospital next time lol.

im not a hundred percent sure, but i think i was around 38 weeks. I know that they had an induction date set for the 40 week mark, and my water broke and i delivered a good 8 days before that.

Went into labor at 40w1d, 40 hours of labor (sunny side up plus cord issues). Medicated but vaginal delivery, barely avoided a C-section. I had just turned 31.

Pregnant with #2, we will see what happens.

39+ 2. 33 years old, was in labour for 12hours, unmedicated natural delivery. Honestly I might consider an epidural next time :p.

Had my son when I was 22. I was 39+3. I was out with my now-husband and my brother the night I went into labor. We were up late (for me) playing cards and listening to music. I went to sleep around 11 pm. I woke up to go pee at 12:30 am, and had my first contraction. Went into the hospital at 7 am and was 4 cms dilated. Got my epidural (finally!) at 9:30 am and was almost 7 cms dilated. My son was born at 12:29 pm after 45 minutes of pushing. Almost exactly 12 hours from the first contraction to him being born. He was 6 pounds, 4 ounces and 19 inches long. Just a little peanut!
