Hey June brides!
I hope you’re enjoying your first month as marrieds! I sure am 🙂
Just wondering how far you all are with writing thank you notes. With our wedding six weeks ago and our second reception 2 weeks ago I have about 100 thank you notes to write for gifts, besides some additional “thanks for helping out” notes. I’ve only got about 15 done so far…but my goal is to be done by August 19th…two months after the wedding date! I hope that’s reasonable. I know etiquette says i have a year, but it just seems thoughtless to wait that long.
Just wondering if you have started…and where you are in the process. It’s kind of daunting to see the stacks of cards waiting for me….but I got these adorable address labels and now I have no excuse! (a total steal–$5 for 100 labels!) I’m on it tonight! (in between Weddingbee, of course)

Hello Latte! I’ve got 15 out of 65 done. I’d work on them this weekend but I’m going out of town to visit my folks. Then next weekend I’m out of town for a bachelorette party! So i’ll be writing them all week long.
The only reason I didn’t do them earlier is I was waiting for photos to do the shutterfly cards.
I already printed up labels and everything, too! They’re so cute–they have our engagement pic on them. My avatar one, so they’re not too in your face b/c our thank you cards definitely have us on them =]

I’m now 24/100. Getting there!
Anyone else just get started?
A couple of resources I found really helpful for writing them (so you don’t run out of steam after 3 or 4:

I have about 20 left to go! out of the 65. They’re becoming very monotanous, though. I write the same thing on every one it seems! It’s hard to have variety for “Thanks for the check/cash! we’re using it towards X”
My goal was to do 9 last night and 10 tonight and put them in the mail tomorrow morning but I don’t think it’ll happen. I put the ones I finished in the mail though. Almost!!! almost….

I finished ours a couple weeks ago and got most of them out – I still have a few to hand out. The DIYer in me wasn’t happy with how simple (read: boring) they were, but our friends and family really liked them. I just got plain 5×7 cards in ivory and put one of our favorite wedding photos on the front with some black photo corners. Took me about two nights of work while watching CSI re-runs on tv 🙂

We got a whole bunch done the week after the wedding, then stalled on the last ten or so, plus the few gifts that have trickled in. So I need to get a move on, I think we are sadly out of the grace period. I never imagined these would be so unenjoyable.
