Washed clothes about 1 month before…  just bc i had some spare time.

installed carseat at the hospital after baby was born.  I labored in the back seat on the way to the hospital so no room for me + carseat back there.  Plus its easy to install… takes 2 minutes.

You wont need to pack a diaper bag for the birth.  I threw one together before baby’s first dr visit.

DH packed my bag while i was laboring… it gave him something to do!  But i wrote out my list of things to pack a couple weeks before.  I only used about 1/4 of the items we packed.

I think I had everything ready by 35 or 36 weeks. But I still tinker with it a little bit. For example, I’ve changed my mind about baby’s going home outfit like 3 times. Then I found out our hospital will take a few professional newborn pics before discharge so I threw in a few cute props that I’m hoping to use. Then I found a cute sleep shirt so I swapped out what I’m going to wear at the hospital, etc. I’ve been on maternity leave for over 2 weeks now and getting a little bored waiting for this kid to come. =P

The earlier the better so you don’t stress. I left work a month before the baby was born so I got her nursery ready then. I didn’t pack my bag or install the car seat until my contractions already started, not that I recommend that lol

@BlueEyes222: every hospital is different in what they supply after the baby arrives.  So some places you may need a few more things.  however I packed my diaper bad at about 34 weeks.  Not because I needed the supplies for the hospital but because I wanted it ready before baby arrived.   That way when we had our first outing I knew I had everything I needed instead of trying to get my sleep deprived brain to handle remembering everything I needed and take care of my baby.
