How big is the college? Hotel rooms can be hard to find or only available for premium pricing during graduation in a lot of college towns.
Speaking as someone who goes to at least two college graduations a year for work, nobody who wasn’t directly involved in creating you really wants to sit through that. I’d pick a different weekend.

50 min to and from the venue is quite long – I would say 20-30 min is probably the max people are going to want to sit on a shuttle but if this is the venue that you want and you don’t have to pay for it, then I would do a shuttle.
We did shuttles from downtown Barcelona to our venue (20-25 min away from the center of the city) – we had 2 55-person shuttles going to the venue and 3 different times for departure staggered 1 hour apart and it worked out well. We ended up paying around $2000 for transportation but it was definitely the right move so people didn’t have to pay for taxis, etc.
Sunday wedding is fine if most people are flying in – I had my wedding on a Sunday, but I’d definitely think seriously about doing a shuttle.

I think it’s inconvenient, and I’d probably decline the invitation. A Sunday afternoon is really tough, and then having to commute an hour to/from the hotel after the event? It’s just too much.
