I will drive 20 to get to Chipotle. We have everything all over so its not a lot of driving usually.

@indibee: I have never heard of this Chik-Fil-A though! LOL

I have never traveled just for fast food. It’s all close by anyway. The only “fast food” place I would travel for is Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee. I don’t eat any of their food, but I will change the way I go from point A to point B so I go by a Dunkin. It’s not hard there are 4 in my town and 5 others that are right over town lines. I swear they spike the coffee with something, even if I have had a few cups already I never turn down Dunkin coffee.

There’s a Chick fil a about 25 minutes from us that we’ll make a special trip for once in awhile. We’ve also driven completely out of the way to go to Five Guys.

@EverAfterBegins: Theres a Chick Fil a at NYU

In college, my roommate took me across the city to a Taco Bell because I had never been to one before.  I was not impressed.

There’s a Chik-fil-A about 300 yards from where I’m sitting (on a college campus…it’s one building over), but there’s a man rolling sushi abotu 50 yards in front of it, so that usually gets my attention. 🙂

With the mention of Shake Shack, maybe there should be a spin off “how long would you wait in line.” The line they had in madison sq park during lunch time used to taunt me. I wonder if it’s gotten better since more sites have been popping up.

I generally don’t eat fast food, but I’m a sucker for Arby’s. When I found one close to me, I made a deal with myself that if I go there, I have to ride my bike. It’s about 3.5 miles each way, about a 1/2 hour ride each way (with traffic).

@EverAfterBegins:

Um. If there was a Chick-Fil-A 45 minutes away from me I would be going there ALL the time.

Did you know there’s one in the NYU campus?

@Pinksapphire: It IS expensive! Here’s the copycat to try. If you don’t have a pressure cooker or deep frier, you can fry the chicken in a deep skillet on the stovetop.

3C peanut oil, 1 egg, 1C milk, 1C flour, 1.5 TB powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp pepper, 2TB salt, 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved, 4 white (or wheat!) hamburger buns, 2TB melted butter and 8 dill pickles.

Pour the peanut oil into the pressure cooker and bring it to about 400F. In a small bowl, beat the egg and add the milk. In a seperate bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and pepper. Dip each chicken piece in the egg milk until it’s completely moistened then dredge chicken in flour mixture. Drop your chicken into the oil and close the lid but leave the steam vents OPEN! (otherwise your pot can explode) When steam starts coming out of the vents set a timer for 3.5 minutes. Butter your hamburger buns with melted butter. I like to lightly toast mine. When chicken is done drain it on some paper towels and put in on the buns with 2 pickles (under the chicken, of course, or it’s just not the same!)

You’ll have to let me know what you think after you try it!

@msgraphics: I think I’ve waited 40 minutes for Shake Shack…

I once waited over an hour for Hot Doug’s in Chicago. I wanted to try a foie gras hot dog!

@HappilyEverAfter54: Oh god, I LOVE Neato Burrito! They have this Chick in a Thai burrito (I call it the Thai Me Up burrito)…chicken with peanut butter sauce and a fried banana in it (Thursday special). I was skeptical the first time, but it’s so.freaking.good. I finished the whole thing in one sitting, which I almost never do. I don’t go there nearly enough.

I almost drove 2 hours for Chipotle a few weeks ago. It wasn’t a feesible feat though b/c Darling Husband wasn’t here and my car we don’t use for long trips. And being pregnant I think is also kind of an expectation…. crazy things for food is to be expected. lol

I’ve had a ChickFilA nearby everywhere I’ve lived since childhood and it’s delicious, but my adult fast food chicken obsession is with Raising Cane’s. I have driven 45 mins to get there, and I’m so excited that TODAY they opened a new location 20 mins from me! If you ever have the chance to go to Cane’s, DO IT! The sauce is like crack. http://www.raisingcanes.com/
