I would ask them how far in advance they book weddings. Some will only book 1-1.5 years in advance (because they raise prices annually and haven’t figured out the pricing for that year yet).

@Miss Party Cat:  We booked our wedding about a year in advance and visited the resort we planned to get married at before that so we could scope it out. We werent really able to talk to anyoone at the resort about the wedding stuff because it is done mostly online between our planner and the planner at the hotel but we were albe to see other weedings and there setups to get some ideas

@Miss Party Cat:  no, shes not saying theyre being booked up now for that time, shes saying that she cant commit to the prices that you see now. 1.5 years is more than enough time

i book just over a year out and my venue had few saturdays left – but then its one of the very few places for a non resort high end wedding. for a resort,,,1-1.5 years is enough

@Miss Party Cat:  my wedding is involving so so much paperwork im drowning haha. permission for mexican to marry a foreigner, permission for a catholic to marry a non catholic, then trying to sort out my legal status in mexico. bleugh! at least the weddung details are coming together slowly

i dont think prices will increase too much dont worry! and itll feel so good to have thedate and place set in stone, im all for booking early as i thinkits less stressful!

I booked in December for a wedding in March, lol. We got a great deal!!! Almost three years in advance is a tad bit early…most airfares don’t post for 11 months before the wedding.

@Miss Party Cat:  I didnt even see you reply back until now! (make sure you hit the reply button under the posts you want to reply too or it will not show up in peoples msg boxes if you just type the @ plus there names)

When we scoped out the weddings at the resorts and tried to get more info we tried to talk to a planner but they told us that everything is done online between our travel agent and the resort. They said we would meet with the wedding planner down there a few days before the wedding to finalize the details. Also our private dinner location would be determined based on the number of guests we have (we have 60 confirmed now which is quite large)

I basically just took pictures of peoples flowers and looked at there wedding set ups. I didnt want to look like a total creeper but I did take some pictures lol

@Miss Party Cat:  Do you mean the price for the trip itself or the cost of the wedding at the resort? We got a good group rate for the people who booked the trip and for hte wedding there we pay per person for the dinner in the private reception. As for the ceremony we dont have to pay for that because we get it free when we have over a number of people that booked. Where will you destination be?
