Can’t remember exactly but it was definitely more than a year. Maybe a year and a half?

lol about 21 months out!!! He did my FSIL’s wedding and I loved his work so booked him literally straight away as he’s a good price considering and didn’t want to loose him!

We did it about a year out. We had the unfortunate experience of contacting a photographer we really liked and whose prices were in our budget, but not hearing back from her for about a month, by which time her prices had gone up by several hundred dollars! We ended up going with someone else. So, the sooner you book the better price you might get.

Once we locked down our date at the venue the photographer was next. We booked about 15 months out.

We booked ours a week after getting engaged, so about 22 months before the wedding. My cousin is our photographer, so we gave her our top 2 dates and she didn’t book anything until we gave her a definitive day.

We booked a year and a half in advance – seems like long, but they were booking up our month (Sept 2012) when we were booking, and if we had waited any longer (a few weeks), they would’ve been all booked up.

I would say a year to 18 months is probably a good bet. It will give you the most options to choose from. At this point this year I’m completely booked for 2011 and already booked for much of spring/early summer 2012, so this summer I anticipate booking for fall 2012.

9 months, but I’m not having a Saturday wedding. If I was, I would have had to booked out further for my top choices.

One year out. All the photographers that I spoke to about getting quotes were all still available on our date, smack dab in the middle of wedding season. I’m sure a few were already booked, but it seemed like most were still available.

10 months out after looking for someone for about a month.  Price check in your area and make sure you are getting everything you want.  I had quotes from $800-$8000 PLUS, and I only want an album, full day coverage and a disk of all my photos.  CRAZY PRICES out there!

About 11 months out. Photography was my #1 priority and she was my #1 pick! I didn’t want to risk losing out on her amazing work.
