My wedding is in April 2016, and we are in the middle of planning it now. Mostly because we want to have a good idea of how much it will cost and where it falls in the budget. I don’t think it’s too soon for you at all.

I just set the rehearsal and will be planning the rehearsal dinner in the next couple of weeks (2 months til the wedding), but we are paying ourselves, small bridal party and only a few out of town guests (probably 12-16 people coming) so it’s pretty low key. We aren’t doing catering or anything, so it’s really just making a restaurant reservation! 🙂

For the rehearsal dinner we are just having a BBQ and inviting everyone over to either our house or FMIL’s house.  We can’t afford to host one at a restaurant, but we still want something to happen after the rehearsal at the church.

For the actual wedding rehearsal, we actually talked to our Minister about that when we met him for the first time last week.  He just asked when we would prefer to have it, and we told him 5 or 6 the evening before.

dreamr12:  I’d say it’s time to do it now. We did ours way in advance because we hired a BBQ company to cater and it was on a major holiday.

It depends on how formal it will be and how many people you’re dealing with. We had a “rehearsal dinner” where our families met each other, and we locked in the details one week beforehand because it was going to be very laidback and only about 20 people. It was so laidback that there wasn’t actually a rehearsal!
