Question as above — how far in advance did you plan and book your rehearsal dinner?
Question as above — how far in advance did you plan and book your rehearsal dinner?
Ours will be June 6th and we have yet to do a single thing. I’m hoping in the next few months we’ll get started. There’s really not a specific time to start, just figure out your guest count, find a place with enough room and book!
Ours will also be the 6th and we have been researching places and tried a few out with the in-laws. Unfortunately, they all have higher minimums than we want for a Friday event. The search continues!
While my mother in law is handling it, so I’m being hands off, I know that she booked the space without about 10 months out. Glad she did, as the resteraunt apparently filled up fast and she got the last room that would fit our wedding party.
I’ve had an idea of what I wanted more than a year out: Welcome picnic for everyone in the park. Sandwhiches, dip, fruit, veggies.
Well, ours will be May 2nd. I did the research on about 5 places and requested menu’s and prices and minimums and narrowed it down to about 3. Our venue is about an hour from us so we took one trip up to try one of the places and will try the others probably next month and will hopefully schedule at the beginning of next year. So we’ll be booked about 4 months out. 🙂
We didn’t do any actual planning until about a month before. We had our reception at our local town hall and knew we were going to have the rehearsal dinner there with pizzas ordered from the restaurant. I called the restaurant a month before to see what the options were and he said call back the week of and he would have them ready for us. It was very casual and very fun. Once we finished eating we decorated the hall.
@LilySarah: We knew it was going to be the night before the wedding, but we didn’t plan anything actually. My in laws paid, therefore they had the say it what was happening. About a month in advance we told them what time we had the church at for rehearsal and they did the rest–food, entertainment, everything.
It’ll be the night before, hopefully. We decided where probably about a year out. Unfortunately, we can’t book our actual rehearsal until 30 days out. It’s frustrating but at least we know where we’ll go to feed people.
@LilySarah: My wedding is a year and a half away and we are already planning the rehersal dinner. I know it’s really early, but the place we want to have it at told us they book up fast so we are planning on booking it in January.
We started maybe 2 months out and maybe had everything ready a month out. I started looking a little before then online.
