It’s NEVER too soon, unless you’re not certain that you REALLY want that project to make an appearance.  I started at about 10 monhts out…and so far only have one project that won’t actually be at the wedding/reception.

I’d say you are good to go ahead and start!

DIN Do it now!  Somethings you want be able to do until closer in (like name cards) but I would do everything you can now.  I am having a short engagement, 4.5 months.  I wish I had more time for DIY.

Nope, do what you can now! I started stuff as early as I knew I could. Invites were done like, November for a June wedding or something. If you know dates/times, it doesn’t hurt! We did flowers in February for June. I DIY’d all the paper stuff and flowers and aisle runner. Also some jewelry for the bridesmaids. Mom started making their dresess in August, too! I spent a LOT of time designing things, so that when it came time to DO them, it didn’t take long cuz i’d already worked out the logistics

Start now for sure!  I started planning almost as soon as I became engaged, which was last October.  But it worked out great for me, because the end of October all of the fall items were on sale and I was able to save so much just in doing that.  And I’ve picked up things along the way that I knew I would be needing.  I think I had my DIY invitations and RSVP postcard done and attached and stuffed in May.  Which made it so less stressful when it came time to address and mail the end of July.  There was no rush in getting them out on time!!!  Good luck with all your DIY projects and with the rest of your wedding planning!

I started right when we found our venue, 10 1/2 months out. For the most part I’m glad I got a head start, I have a room full of wedding crap and I don’t feel like I’ll have a lot to do right before the wedding. There are a few things that I wont be using or that I’m changing my mind about though, but nothing major.

I started about a 9 months into it… but so glad that I did! I could set-up so many things over time and put them away until the “final” bits and pieces were needed. I still crafted up unti the day before the wedding… but at least most of the prep work was done!

I have started my diy projects and my wedding is in more than three years. I plan on doing everything myself besides the photography and the pastor. And thats only because of my need to be on the other side of the lense and podium. What are some of the projects you all are working on?

@SanDiegoAli if you want to talk and see if maybe we have some of the same diy projects, I would love to have a diy project buddy!
