We booked our flowers about four months in advance. However, we have A LOT of floral vendors in our county (and surrounding counties) so it wasn’t a problem at all. About 75% of the people in my budget were still free. We got our cake/dessert bar from our caterer and we didn’t decide on that until a little under 2 months.

Depending on your area, I would start scouting now, especially for cake vendors since there are only so many good cake bakers and there’s no point in paying that much for mediocre cake.
