@blondie_bride:  I still do weighted lunges and squats (I’m talking light weights though, like 15 or 20lb dumbbells).  I just stop if I feel any pain in my knees.  Since your joints become looser during pregnancy it is easier to hurt or injure yourself because you can have less stability.

@kes18:  ah, good to know! thank you =) I think i’ll stick to lunges/ wall sits for my “leg day” which is definitely more abbreviated nowadays anyway. I wish the step mill had personal tvs like the tredmills #firstworldproblems :/

you’re all making me more motivated to hit the gym and stay productive this first trimester, regardless of how sleepy i’m feeling– a litle cardio/ elliptical is better than nothing, right?!

Hoping to maintain 3 days of gym-time per week throughout the pregnancy… hopefully more if i’m feeling up to it!

i run 15-18 miles per week. my doctor told me to stop running until i reached 12 weeks. i don’t know why.

@lealorali:  yep! she said she is a conservative doc. she was an OB/GYN but recently stepped away from obstetrics. i still went to her for my initial appointment (confirmation appt) because she knows my health history well. her husband is an ultramarathoner so she knows my world (endurance training and distance running) so i was shocked! but i figure it was for a reason. i go to my actual OB on monday for my first post 8-wk appointment and i will ask her what she thinks.
