    We’re having our reception 45 minutes from the ceremony. Oh well! I have to travel it too so it’s not like I’m making my guests do something I won’t. 

    Land my guests have no issues at all with it!

    Another consideration is ceremony length.  Will your guests have spent enough time at the ceremony venue such that the first segment of the day is “worth” their time before schlepping the distance to the reception?  A 1.5 hr mass followed by a 40 min drive to a reception is quite different than a 15 min ceremony.

    I voted wrong.  I put 10-15 minutes because that is how far away my reception is from my ceremony site.  BUT I think anything over an hour is too far.  I don’t think 40 minutes is to0 bad, as long as that is it, total WITH traffic.  You don’t want your guests feeling inconvenienced.
