Depends on the area and traffic.  I personally wouldn’t ask guests to spend more than 30 minutes traveling from one place to the next. And that’s tops.

@Baroness_Meg:  I wouldn’t go much over an hour, tops. I realize in cities like TO, traffic can be bad so it’s not like an hour’s drive necessarily means far away.

@howtobeawife:  Agreed.

We had a co workers wedding in Dec and we already had to drive 2 hours to the ceremony. It only lasted literally 10 mins then had to drive 45 mins to the reception… It was totally nuts!

An hour, tops.

We are attending a wedding in March and it will take us TWO hours to get from the ceremony location to the reception venue and we are less than thrilled.

Mine is a 25 minute drive… And I feel SO guilty! I’m having a luncheon reception, so they’re driving 25 mins, having 3 hours of lunch, and driving home! I feel so bad… But it was the ONLY dcent venue in our area!

I don’t think I’d want to drive any longer than 20 min. Luckily both our C and R are in the same location. PHEW!

Mine will be about 35-40 minutes.  Unfortunately for us our area has literally nothing for reception places (especially ones that can hold 300 people comfortably).  Luckily there’s like literally no traffic.  Oh well, what can you do!

I think 45 would be absolute tops but I would be more comfortable with 25 being top

45 mins tops. I would get frustrated if I had to drive more than an hour. One of my cousins had the ceremony in a church & the reception downtown & trying to navigate & foreign city’s downtown area and trying to find parking was horrible. It was only probably a 20 minute drive but it ended up being more toward 40 to actually get there.

I think more than 10 minutes would irritate me.

@MissStumptown:  This. : I’m too impatient, really. We attended a wedding in 2011 where the wedding and reception were almost an hour apart, PLUS a three hour gap between them (and it wasn’t a Catholic wedding).
