Does this restaurant even cater or are you talking about doing take out? (you mention having to keep the food warm)

Im sure most caterers are fine to travel about two hours as long as the quote was worth it for then, they probably aren’t going to go that far for 10 people without creating a fee. If you are talking about take out from a restaurant then it sounds like a disaster, I would reconsider.

i would say 2 hours is too far for catering, but you never know until you ask the restaurant as they may have capabilities to transport food that far. I, too, am dealing with this. Were getting married in the adirondacks and all the good catering places are about an hour or more away. i havent found anyone willing to travel even that far.. good luck bee!

My fiance ran a food truck that primarily catered weddings. I believe he would travel up to 3 hours each way. You would have to reach out to the business.

That’s up to the individual business.

I know of catering companies that will do the whole state (which would be about a 9 hour drive north to south).  But they are few and far between.  Most places I know limit themselves to a certain mile radius (50 is the norm around here).  Most of the restaurants here that do catering have the mileage limit.

You’re going to have call around to these businesses to ask them if they even will do it before worrying about other logistics.

Or are you talking about you doing take out and reheating food?  If so, then that would be a big old no.  Either find a new venue or learn to be ok with different cuisine or work with whatever caterer is available to create a custom menu.

Caterers will travel that far. Restaurants won’t.
