I commute 60 miles since we moved and it is horrible. H commutes 55 miles. We’re both miserable. I wouldn’t recommend it!

    cameobride :

I am in Canada so for me it’s about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the winter months.

It’s about 35km each way, so about 70 k every day.

I commute between two schools. One is less than 5 minutes & one is 10 minutes from my home. The farther of the two is less than 5 miles from my home. The closer is right at a mile from my home. I’m super lucky to live so close to my work!

I live on the south side of my city and work downtown. It’s only 6.5 miles but takes about 30 minutes in morning traffic towards downtown.

I’m ~25 miles away from where I work, but my commute when I was 4 miles away wasn’t all that much shorter time-wise.

I commute 51 miles one way and I hate it.  Hubby only has a 15 minute drive.

I have about a ten minute drive and my husband’s is about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. We both used to drive 45 minutes each way so it’s a huge upgrade. Having a less stressful commute has made my afternoons so much more enjoyable.

cameobride :  This is just what we did a few years ago – my commute was a 15 minute drive where his was just over an hour.  Now I’m a half hour on the nose (20 miles according to google) and he’s under 45 depending on traffic (around 30 miles).  I feel a thousand times better knowing he’s not leaving at the ass-crack of dawn just to get to work on time, especially in bad weather as he heads toward mountains.

Schools are what they are out here, so our kid will just have to suffer no matter what.  You should be able to look up their “grades” online.  Around here’s it’s highly likely to be a D, but I work in one of the districts and know what drags it down.

I work about 28 miles away & it takes me about 30-35 minutes. My husband works 26 miles away in the opposite direction & it takes him about 45 minutes-1 hour. We we were living about 5 miles from my work, but moved closer to his job to cut his commute down. Definitely worth it!

Just a thought, you would get different poll results with minutes instead of miles. My commute is only 9 miles, but it takes 45-50 minutes on a normal day since I’m in a major metro area.

I used to have a reverse commute of 27 miles but only 30-35 minutes!
