We went over about $4000.  We were trying to keep it under $25,000 (really $20,000) but with all the bells and whistles my mother wanted, we ended at about $29,000.  Yes, its my wedding and I did get everything I wanted … but some of the things I wanted was to make mommy happy too.  πŸ™‚

Ummm… at the beginning of wedding planning our goal was $15,000. Our wedding is still 8 1/2 months away, but after trying to figure in every single cost it looks like it will cost closer to $18,000. Oh! It might help to add a poll to your post πŸ™‚

So far we are on track.

We have only spent about 50$ though ahaha as the majority of our deposits aren’t due for a few months yet. (and we haven’t made any major purchases like dress/suit yet!)

I hope that we can stay on track and even come in under our ‘goal’ budget πŸ™‚

Not too bad.  We had a lot of little last minute expenses that I hadn’t really added into the budget – highlights, nail appointment, picture frames, etc.  Little stuff, but it added up…my hair color and cut two days before the wedding was $125.  I think all in all, we went over budget by no more than $1,000 or so, which we easily recouped in cash gifts.

Originally it was for 50 people and a backyard reception with a budget of $5k.  Then it somehow grew to 76 people and our final tally was $6600.  I’m still very very happy with our budget!  πŸ™‚

It was for 80 at $15k, now it looks like its 130 people for 23k. That’s including rings and honeymoon though, I don’t leave anything out of the budget.

We originally wanted to do it at 10k, but venues alone were 100pp starting! Getting engaged was so overwhelming…

Our initial goal for everything, including wedding bands and honeymoon, was $18,000.  We ended up going over by about $4-5K.

Our initial budget was just an estimate though… reality really set in once we started actually booking stuff!  We switched to a better photographer, and that really set us back too.

My budget was 10k and I ended up spending 13K, although some of the money wasn’t exactly wedding related, it was more related to having an out of state wedding, like flight home.  Also, I did lose my deposit on my first venue.  If I subtract all of that stuff, I came in about 11k.  I am very proud of myself that I stayed in that range for having 130 guests, plus having it in area where it’s not cheap to have a wedding.

One word of advice to keep track… and keep it current! The last two weeks is when I was a bit reckless with spending… but then again I needed those things so I don’t know if I could have found a better price in that amount of time.

Our budget was $10k, and Im pretty sure we came out pretty damn close to our budget. We may have gone like… $100-200 over.

@heatherrobyn: It was hard, for real. We got lucky with a lot of it, though. Our venues were both free due to screw-ups on the hotels part (which saved us at least $2500), our photog gave us a massive discount (im talking like… probably $2500-3000) because we were getting married at halloween and Darling Husband is military, our DOC was a friend of my mother’s who did it as a favor (savings of probably $700-800), our invites were designed by me and then printed for free by another friend of my mom’s, we got my dress 50% off due to a screwup on the designers part, I made my headpiece and jewelry, we scoured ebay, craigslist and garage sales for things, DIYed as much as we could.

We calculated it after the fact and figured that our wedding SHOULD have cost somewhere between $20-25k, had we paid what we should have for everything.

Our original budget for everything (RD to honeymoon) was $10K, but we spent about $12-13K.
