I have an appointment set up for a meeting with a florist this weekend. She said her prices are only good for 6 months and she won’t sign any contracts before that. I’m not getting married till 2012 so clearly the quote I get may or may not be valid. I’m still going so I can get an idea of flowers and cost. I was curious if this is normal for florists and you just book them late or if its just this particular florist?

I dunno, I think that’s pretty typical. I have a wedding checklist from Real Simple and it says to wait until 6 months before the wedding to book a florist.

We booked about 7 – 8 months in advance.

I am meeting with a florist next weekend- a little over 10 months in advance. I just wanted to get an idea of what it would cost for what I want so that I know what to budget , bc i dont know the first thing about flowers. I dont plan on signing any sort of contract yet.

We booked about 8-10 months in advance, and she gave us a rough quote and put together an arrrangement for us to see. A few months out, I went back for another meeting where we firmed up the numbers and we generally stayed in the same ballpark as the original quote.
