My finger is a 5.25 and the ruby is equivalent to about 1c.  I find it a touch on the highside, but the advantage is that I didn’t have to get a notched band or anything special.

I have a 1.2 c round center stone, and my ring size is 6.5.  I have a 4 prong basket setting which is pretty low, never had problems:

Here’s mine! I’m a size 4.75 and the diamond is 1.20 carats. I’d say it average to kinda high up, but I work in a lab and can still get my gloves on and off without ripping them. Otherwise, I don’t notice it most of the time and it doesn’t get stuck on anything.

Mine sits higher up that I wanted, but I don’t find it to be an inconvenience at all. For refernce, it’s just over a carat. Just over 1.5 tcw I think. It’s sized at a 4.5 and bit loose.

Mine’s actually not too high, but he had it designed so that a wedding ring would sit flush.

I don’t photo at the moment but my ring is exactly a 1/2inch in height from my finger to the highest point. It was a tall as I was willing to go as I ride horses so wear gloves a lot. I also wanted a ring that wasn’t super top heavy as rings that spin drive me nuts, so the one I have is perfect. My ring size is 6 1/4. I will post a picture when I get home but it looks similar to AlmostMrsJames‘s ring.

I wear a size 6 ring and my ring is a .59ct Lucida. I LOVE the Lucida setting. It’s not too high, the crossed prongs allow light in and it’s, well, pretty! 🙂

Sorry for the terrible picture quality. Mines a size 5, 1 3/4 carats. Took some getting used to when I first got it but I hardly notice it now. Just when I glance down and see something shiny on my finger 🙂

@chittychittybanebane: I think it has many names. Tiffany calls it Lucida but it’s also called trellis, basket and cross (x) prong. I think it depends on the jeweler. My stone is also called a Lucida cut.
