Food for thought.. I inherited my Mothers ring – wide band with large solitare set very high. After years of wear, the mounting needed to be serviced and I opted to have it set lower into the ring. I was shocked and disappointed at how much smaller the 2 ct. stone looked.

Sometimes I think mine sit up high then other times I dont. Lol

Mine isn’t high…my previous setting was much higher so I find this one more comfortable.

My ring. It’s quite high I think and I do knock it sometimes but I love higher cathedral settings.

I love how low mine sits, I can’t wear mine to work anyway, but this doesn’t snag on things.

Seems relatively low to me, especially considering the stone size (2.5 carats).

I had major concerns about my possibly ring sitting too high (prior to actually getting it) ano once it was on my finger it definitely felt high because I never wear rings I think! I am getting quite used to it very fast and realizing it actually isn’t THAT high and I’m enjoyog the way it is set because it allows a beautiful amount of light flow to flow through it! 😃

This is is my size 7, .84 carat diamond. I feel like my Fiance put it in a super high setting! I’m still getting used to it (I’ve had it for 4 months now) but I love how the height makes the diamond look larger!

Mine is a size 9.25 6.5mm cushion cut moissanite with a cushion halo.
I wanted cathedral, too. But I didn’t want anything that sat too high. But I ended up making a custom ring that just had a low-set stone. It doesn’t catch on anything and it doesn’t feel ‘too high’ for me.
