Does the 1660 venue include food?

We did our wedding for $3200. Our major money as savers were a free venue (my mom’s lake arrowhead cabin), gifted wedding cake, we bought and arranged our own flowers, made our own buffet style food, and only had 35 guests. My wedding dress was the most expensive aspect of our wedding at $1000 after tax and alterations.

Research and price comparisons. Look for accessories and shoes, etc… outside of traditional bridal places. You have probably already been doing this. Get to know other brides or brides-to-be who are looking to sell/give away items. We will probably be around $5K for 80 guests and our major savings have been:

Choosing a non-profit venue that includes free hotel rooms for the bridal party- $1000.

Hiring a photographer who is super talented, but new to the area and wanting to build up her portfolio- $300

Dress from thrift store in perfect condition- $200 (this was just a total lucky break)

10 rose bowls, 50 candleholders from two different sellers- $5. The candleholders ended up being free because the lady didn’t meet me at the time we agreed and felt so bad she dropped them off at my house free of charge.

oh and do your tax return 🙂 I told them I had graduated college and am now working ful time, and I got my tuition credits on my tax return… ie. a nice big chunk of money.

@mrsedwardslpn:

It doesn’t hurt to look! I stumbled upon this place when I was looking for a weekend getaway spot. It’s getting more popular for weddings now, so we’re the last couple to recieve that particular deal.

That’s a great price for a venue that includes everything! Good job!
