  • poll: Why did you pick the date that you did?

It was a very special and specific date for me (give reasons)

It was just what worked out with vendors

I wanted a certain date but it didn't work out :(

    I voted “I wanted a specific date..” but truthfully I didn’t.

I was forced into the date becaue of my husband’s parents. Both of them work in the educational field and do not have a lot of options when it comes to time off. My husband’s mother is a HS computer teacher and is allowed 2 yearly days off (Not even joking, it’s in the handbook) so we couldn’t do it on a weekday.

If we did it during summer break, it’d be too hot (Although we are getting close to summer break in Cali) and my husband’s father had limited days available due to his job at a community college working with the performing arts center.

It was the only day they both had free, either from other appointments or running shows at the college.

I didn’t necessarily want my wedding in June. If it were me, it would’ve been more into spring, but I didn’t really have a choice.

I wanted a late summer wedding so that my dad’s huge flower garden would be in full bloom for our decorating use, and so it’d be nice and warm (we’re up in the mountains).  Besides that, no biggie.

I knew I wanted a June wedding…and didn’t want father’s day weekend…4th of July is one of my favorite holidays ever because I love fireworks, BBQs, the beach and family time! I thought why not have the wedding the Saturday before the 4th and then take the whole week off after the celebrate to wedding and the 4th! We are going to then go on honeymoon in Nov.
