DelaneyRose:  we walked into a store and I found the setting that I lived and he wrote the check. Before hand I had looked at settings to narrow down what I wanted. I took him around shopping so he could get a taste of what it involves to buy a ring and when I found the one I just knew. The lady was so nice and helpful.  She showed him what an inclusion was and also the number that is inscribed on my diamond. It was nice. I really wanted him to have all that and still pick my ring. I went as far as taking him to the mall so he could see how some sales people can shove stuff down your throat practically. I really enjoyed the whole processes of doing it together. If he would have went alone he would been taken advantage of in my opinion.  He doesn’t know a thing about buying diamonds.

He originally had a design idea that did not work out, and I still have no idea what it was. After he told me he wanted to get me a moonstone ring, and I told him the stone was not durabe enough for an everyday ring, he told me to look for rings I liked. I planned to show him a few antiqur stule settings and antique rings I liked and let him pick. However, I foud a setting I fell in love with, and he loved it too, so tha that is what I got and I LOVE it!

He took me ring shopping on our 3rd anniversary as a surprise.  We looked at rings, narrowed down to one, and then he picked the diamond himself at a later date and got the ring made!  Now I’m just waiting to see it in person πŸ˜‰

We are at this place now too. He knows I’m particular about jewelry. So he told me to tell him exactly what I wanted with no room for interpretation LOLOL. Our wedding bands have been picked out too and ordered. He said his proposal will be special and memorable and a surprise. He won’t tell me when. So it’s really fun to look forward to!!

I often sent photos and links to my Fiance of rings I liked and then there was this one ring that I fell in love with.  I never saw anything else like it and I still haven’t.  I couldn’t get the ring out of my head.  I actually emailed the company myself to ask more questions about the ring.  I passed along the info to my Fiance once I knew it wasn’t too out of budget… haha it was still out of our budget, but not insane like a lot of the rings I was drawn to.

I honestly didn’t expect him to get me this ring, because I ended up getting an email from the company that the ring sold and they didn’t have anymore in stock.  It turned out being that the buyer backed out and Fiance purchased the ring.  I had no idea.  It was a nice surprise!!!

I actually look back now though and wish we would have went to actual jewelry shops and tried stuff on.  Though I’m still in love with my ring, I just think it would have been a lot of fun and great memories to have with my Fiance.

I think now-a-days it’s pretty smart to shop together.  Afterall, it is going to be something you wear forever and it’s important that you LOVE it!

I’m excited for you!  You’ll have to let us all know when he pops the question πŸ™‚

I picked it totally on eBay. I’m not a diamond gal and he didn’t know exactly what I wanted. I got a lilac coloured tanzanite. When that broke DH surprised me with an upgrade in exactly  the same style. A lilac sapphire in yellow gold with diamond accents. I love it a lot. But he knew what I wanted! And we got them both on eBay!

I didn’t see it coming and he caught me by surprise. Once we were window shopping (NOT for rings) and accidentally stopped in front of a jewelry shop. He told me he didn’t like some of the models on display, and I agreed. That was our ring talk. πŸ˜‰

Two weeks later he proposed with a gorgeous diamond solitaire. If you go classic, you can’t go wrong!

DelaneyRose:  Originally my Fiance wanted me to just give him ideas, but I couldn’t find anything that met what I wanted exactly and so I tried to explain to him. I still couldn’t describe to him exactly what I wanted, especially when I wasn’t sure how things would look. He really wanted to give me a ring that I absolutely loved, and so we went ring shopping together and learnt about diamonds and bands together.

We actually really enjoyed the experience together and it ended up being that Fiance chose the diamond and we both agreed on the band to have, so it was really a joint effort to the point that I see the ring as being ours, rather than just mine.

He didn’t tell me when he picked up the ring though, and left the proposal a surprise πŸ™‚

ETA – Forgot to say that I’m really happy that we did it this way!
