I told my Maid/Matron of Honor I wanted to go to dinner and out to a drag show.  Apparently the plan is to go to dinner the THURSDAY before the wedding, and no drag show, just home to bed =(  I’m kind of bummed TBH

I set guidelines, Puerto Rico next September. We go on an annual girls vacation so specifying PR wasn’t crazy.

We’ll have another Bridal Party in the city where we live and they can have free rein in the planning.

I planned mine – it wasn’t a big thing, anyway, and so it was easy, just telling everyone to meet me at the downtown music festival. Good thing, too, since a friend who tried to take over the planning and turn it into a sordid, common mess ended up stuck out of town and so we ended up doing what I actually wanted!

I am involved with the planning of both parties. My BMs are fighting about this and I don’t like some of the ideas I have heard.

I wanted to be “surprised” and boy was I sorry that I didn’t specify exactly what I wanted to do. My bachelorette party ended up being a really sad slumber party for 3 (which only included 1 friend of mine the other 2 ladies was my MOH’s sister and friend). I was definitely dissappointed. So please do drop hints or suggestions so that you enjoy your party girl!!!

There was a bit of disagreement about where to hold my bachelorette.  One of my BMs made a suggestion to have it in Chicago and 3 of my 4 BMs were on board, but one of my MOHs lobbied to have it where we live because she didn’t want to travel.  (Never mind that the other 3 BMs would have to travel 3, 8, and 15 hours, respectively).  I ended up telling them that I wanted to have the party in Chicago.  I was happy because this allowed 3 of my female relatives to attend when they otherwise would  not have been able to.

They planned the rest of the party without my input.  And they did an amazing job!

None of my girls have ever been to Vegas (where the wedding is and therefore where the party will be a couple days beforehand), and I’ve been there lots of times so I basically told them exactly what I want to do and where to go.  They were kind of lost without being given specific ideas and suggestions, which is understandable and I didn’t mind, although it would have been nice to have one less thing to plan during all of this!

My two local bridesmaids came over to my house hang out with me while I packed for my honeymoon, and we ordered pizza and talked.  That was my “bachelorette” party, so, there really wasn’t any planning other than them asking me if that evening was a good time to get together to do this. It was fun!
