(Closed) How is the economy/job market in Vermont?

@skippydarling:  It’s very hard. You really need to be near Burlington to find jobs like that, but the cost of living is very high (overall, but more so in burlington area). If you have experience in restaurants or retail I think you should be fine finding that type of work, though you might have more luck with healthcare science (the large medical system of Fletcher Allen) than film, but it can’t hurt to start applying. It’s not impossible and it’s not 2008-2011, but it’s not like this is the land of plenty. I moved to a rural area not near Burlington (because my Fiance is in grad school) and I’m effectively 1.5-2 hours from anything, and there’s only one major employer in my area…and it’s hard to break through that barrier. I’ve been living here for a little over a year, you’re welcome to PM me anytime (or share email if you’re not worried about privacy – if you move, I’d love to make more friends!!)
