My FSIL’s wedding was on a Sunday, and most people stayed til 10 or 11 pm.

If i was local and had to work the next day, I’d stay until about 10pm.

We’re having our wedding on Sunday and the Monday is a holiday.  Our wedding is a destination wedding to 60% of our guests, so we’re planning the reception until 11pm and an after party on the waterfront for those who are making this their vacation and want to keep celebrating.

Our Memorial Day Monday wedding ended at 9.30 pm. We asked the DJ to end it so we can do our getaway (we were exhausted!) , the dance floor was still full at that time. Half the guests had taken the next day off anyway so I hear they continued to party till past midnight.

That’s a relief to read the majority would stay. My wedding is on a Sunday too and at first I was against it because I always thought guests wouldn’t want to stay but my Fiance pointed out that all the people who are important to us would stay.  Plus, the next day is a bank holiday so at least the kids have it off and some of the parents.

i’m surprised to hear some bees wouldn’t stay past 8…is this a personal rule for all weeknight events?  that seems so early to me, but maybe i just stay up later…

We had a Sunday wedding, the next day wasn’t a holiday and we had our friends and family rockin’ with us until 11:30pm ๐Ÿ™‚

It was spring break for a lot of our law school friends, and my college friends had taken Monday off from work so they could stay and enjoy themselves ๐Ÿ™‚

@ejoyb: Mine too! Our wedding will prob end 9-10, but we may have an unplanned ‘after party’ in the hotel’s bar after that.

9:30 latest.  My Future Brother-In-Law had a Sunday night wedding until about 10?  They got upset that everyone started to leave early (9ish).  The wedding was in town.

@Ms. Meowerson: ๐Ÿ™‚  I have to be at work around 7am, so usually I’m in bed no later than 9pm during weeknights and avoid events that go late during the week.  However, for a wedding of friend, I would definitely make an exception.

We’re planning to end our Sunday wedding by 7 or 8. The next day isn’t a holiday and we wanted people to be able to enjoy the entire event. However our venue has no time limit on it so if it were to go later, it’s no big deal for us. ๐Ÿ™‚

I went to a wedding last week on a Sunday. The ceremony started at 5 and the whole wedding didn’t end until 11:30. It was the strangest thing and everyone left very early. It was horrible

My wedding is a Sunday also, but it is on a long weekend. It will end at 11

oh gees, when I saw the title (before I read your post), I was like, “wellll…. I’d leave by ten at the latest, but really I’d rather be home by ten.”

Six? That’s crazy early! I’m with you, your Fiance is a pretty considerate sounding guy though!
