Depends on how close I am with the people getting married. If it was a good friend or close family member, I’d probably take off Monday regardless of whether I was local or out of town, so it wouldn’t matter.
If it wasn’t a good friend or close family member and it was out of town, I wouldn’t go if it was out of town. If it was local, I probably wouldn’t drink, but would stay until 10 or 11.
I usually get to work by 8:30 or 9 and go to bed around 12 or 1.

We’re having a Sunday wedding. After talking to the few locals on the guest list, we opted for a 4:00pm to 8:00pm reception. Most of our guests are out-of-towners who would have had to take a day off anyway, though. So for them, we’ll probably host an after-party….
Personally, I’d stay till the end for a close friend or family member — regardless of the day. I almost always leave right after cake if it’s a friendly acquaintence.

Our Sunday wedding starts at 5 (ceremony) and ends at 10. I’m not worried. I agree that those who really care will stay later. Even if they stay until 9, I’d be happy. We’re gong to cut the cake right after dinner so people won’t feel obligated to stay later than necessary. The next day is Columbus Day but only teachers are off.

I went to a Sunday wedding that had no plans on ending before Midnight or later (Bride and Groom didn’t even show up until after 10 p.m. for the reception (we waited to see them for 2 hours)). Everyone had to go to work the next day and we all started leaving by 10:30 p.m. It was really my least favorite wedding that I’ve ever been to. There was no thought for the guests at all. I’d say to wrap everything up by 10 p.m. unless Monday is a Holiday.

it depends on how close I am to the couple getting married…and whether or not i was having a good time. I would have no problem staying out until 11 or later if i was having a good time. Ive also gone out to the club during the week and attended midnight premiers of movies…I work 8-4:30. If i can stay up for things like that surely staying for a wedding would be no problem for me.
With that being said im getting married on a Thursday. ALot of my guests will be coming from out of town so it truely wont matter what time the reception is over im still working on times). Im not sure what your guests are like but surely 9 or 10 cant be too late. People will just have to watch their drinking? staying out late if they have early morning responsibilities 🙂
