- Wedding: April 2015
I think this poll has made me realize I need to take a break from here until there’s progress
I hit the two year mark in February, but I am almost certain I will be off the list before May of this year, since we picked a date of May 2015.
Yeah I know, we picked a date before the engagement, but hey, it works for us. Now I am just waiting for it to be official.
I started reading the blog about 3 years before getting engaged! I only realized the boards were there about 1 1/2 – 2 years before, and only got more active about 9 months – 1 year before. I can’t help that I love weddings!
I didn’t vote because I was already engaged by the time I found the bee.
I didn’t join until I was engaged
@MrsGarrityToBe: I used to read the blog LONG before I was even in this relationship. But I liked party planning and stuff, so the DIY decorations and blogger bees posting about their bridal showers appealed to me. I think I registered because they did some give-away that required you to log in. So I probably registered more than five years before I was engaged! Then when something weird happened at a wedding I was at and I posted about it. I just looked it up and that was four years ago!!! But I didn’t post again until about 9 months before I was engaged and that’s when I started being pretty active on the boards.
I was already engaged and discovered the bee about 8 months before our wedding. Wish I’d known about it sooner! You should change your poll to add an option for those of us who joined after.
I started lurking on Weddingbee in 2009 because my cousin was a Bee blogger! But I didn’t get an account/start posting on the baords until maybe 6 months before I was engaged (which was in 2013). So yeah, maybe I’m a weirdo 🙂
There should be am option for bees who didn’t join/find this site until after they were engaged.
OTHER: I didnt get on wedding bee until I got engaged, didn’t even know it existed. I wasnt too big into wedding thigns prior to my engagement. I mean, I always had ideas and thoughts of what I wanted, but I didnt actively go looking until I had something to actually plan. I get really involved in planning and brainstorming that if i looked into wedding things before being engaged I would have been consumed and probably would have been asking for an engagement rather than letting it happen because I would get so excited for all my ideas.
We were together for 3 1/2 years before we got engaged, we didn’t even start talking about marriage until more than 2 years together. Right around our 3 year mark, Darling Husband decided he wanted to pop the question, and then it was just a few months of finding the perfect ring and way to propose.
