I’ve heard it takes a couple months because the pills are still in your system. But I also think everyone is different. Some people can get pregnant while on BC. I think it really depends on your body and its hormones

I was on the pill for about 15 years. I stopped and began charting using NFP to prevent pregnancy. I charted this way for 8 months while waiting for my body to get back to normal. The 9th month we decided to TTC, and conceived on the first try.

I was on the pill non-stop 9 or 10 years.  I went off it and we used condoms for 7 months, then I got pregnant the first try.

I stopped taking the pill 4 weeks ago after taking it for over 10 years.  I took a pregnancy test today and it’s positive!  I’m still in shock and in a little bit of denial so I’ll take the 2nd test in a few days just for my own peace of mind.  It wasn’t supposed to happen this quickly!  I guess I’m not very good and charting days.

There is actually a higher chance of twins within the first month off the pill. Saw that on a show about twins.

I am off (not TTC though) and MAN it increased my “drive” if you know what I mean. So maybe that helps too!

My sister was on BC for 7 years, stopped taking it for two WEEKS and got pregnant.  She’s now entering her 37th week!

Kinda scary to think it’s so easy to get pregnant!

I have been off the pill for a year and am currently using the pull out method (sometimes) and I am not preggo yet. I dont know if its me or him, but no preggo for us, and we have been “not-not trying” for over a year…

This post makes me feel better! I’ve been on BC pills for almost 10 years! I have this fear that because I’ve been on it for so long, that I may not be able to conceive =(  But, my gyno tells me not to worry because, since I was just put on the pill for the obvious reasons, there shouldn’t be any problem.  She told me it does vary person to person, it could take 1 week to 1 year from when you stop taking the pill.

(The only thing she told me was to make sure I begin to try before I’m 30! I’m 26 now, will be married at 27 and will start trying on the HM!)

@bride2bejc: I’m not sure why she is telling you to start before 30.  There are a lot of people now who have their first baby unassisted after 30.
