@QueenOfSerendip:  Some doctors say to wait a few months until your cycle regulates but in all honesty I know lots and lots of women who swear by getting pregnant the first cycle of BCPs.

Yes, you can get pregnant before menstruating because menstruation occurs normally two weeks after you ovulate.  So yes, you could ovulate before getting your first period off BCPs and turn up pregnant.

When you stopped taking the pill did you stop at the end of a pack or in the middle?  It’s best to stop at the end so you can have a period.  However, you say you haven’t had a period in 5 months while on BCPs.  If you don’t have one within 6-8 weeks I would recommend seeing your OB/GYN to get checked out.

@QueenOfSerendip:  Maybe try taking Vitex and/or Dong Quai to speed things along? The ladies on Fertility Friend might be able to offer some more specific advice but I know they typically swear by Vitex for any ovulation issues.

I got AF approx 26 days after taking the Nuva Ring out. Everyone is different. I am still not pg and I have been off BC and TTC for 11 cycles.
