I started around 12 weeks PP (I think), but it was really, really painful. Turns out I had low (super, super low) estrogen since I’m nursing. I ended up on topical estrogen and the pain is much less now. Just wanted to throw that out there in case anyone else is finding post-birth sex painful.

Good lord. I was planning on giving myself a 3 month break. (Not that we’re even TTC) I mean you shoved a HUMAN out of your hoohah.

Dr said 6 weeks but we were impatient, so we tried at 4 weeks and we had to be very careful but sex was doable. Fwiw I delivered vaginally and had an episiotomy.

@Jess1483: I second the estrogen cream! It was a godsend for me. We tried at 6 weeks PP and it was unbearably painful until I finally got the estrogen cream at 6 months. I wish I had gotten it sooner. I had a c-section but sex was so painful until I started using the cream.

With our first, i remember we went ahead and did ‘things’ (LOL) before the 6th week. I waited with numbers 2 and 3 and this time we will wait a little longer until dh makes the V appointment.
