We got married in August of 2018. Moving into our new house in May and will start trying then, so about 9 months! We’ve been together for 8 years now (lived together for 5) so no need to “enjoy time just the two of us”. I’m 28 he’s 30, we’ve travelled to over 30 countries so we are ready! So excited!

We have been together for 5 years now, we are getting married in six days and we probably won‘t try before being married for two years. He‘s 34 now and I‘m 29. We need to figure out where we‘re going to live first and have our finances more stable.

We were together 10 years/married for 3 when we started trying, had our first a couple months before our 4th anniversary, at ages 28 and 31.

We were together 12 years when we got married and waited 4 years to start trying. It took us 2 years until our baby was born. We were 32/35 when he was born (turned 33/36 just a couple of months later).

We were going to try for our 1 year anniversary but I got pregnant the month before. So we waited 11 months

I love my kids, but I wish we’d have waited a few years to really build a strong marriage / career foundation before trying for kids. We were 21 and 23.  I underestimated how much stress it would put on us.  My second marriage we waited a year to start trying. I was 30. We had one miscarriage and then had our baby boy right after I turned 33. It was easier!

We’ve been married a little under a year now, and we’re thinking of waiting until we’ve been married 2-3 years before ttc. We’re 28 & 31.

We recently talked about it because I think now that we’re married and our finances are in good shape it’s become more of a reality for both of us. That said, we’re still living in a teeny apartment and can’t afford to buy real estate in our very HCOL area. Prior to TTC we’d like to move to a less expensive area and ideally buy a house. Realistically we may rent longer since we don’t know where our jobs will take us, but we’d at least like to move someplace where we could afford to rent a house. We could theoretically do that now, but we need to time it with our careers and dh recently got a promotion which is making it more attractive to stay in the city a bit longer and save aggressively.
