Less than a month. Our engagement was about 8 months. For us it was down to venue availability, so we didn’t pick a date until our venue gave us their list. We had a very limited choice of dates so it ended up being a date I wouldn’t have chosen but where I live in the UK it is all about venue venue venue! Everything else can come later but get it booked or miss out!

it took us about a month to pick an exact date but we knew what season we wanted ahead of time.
If you know what season you may be able to save some money by being flexible in your date depending on your venue of course, it worked out for us, for example they were able to give us an off peak price for the ceremony site by choosing November instead of December.

A few weeks. We thought we had the date picked out before we were officially engaged, and then when we started announcing our engagement, we found out about a conflict that a big chunk of our guest list had on the day we’d originally picked. We vacillated back and forth on changing it and which direction to change it, so it took 3 weeks before we set the date for sure.
The day after we paid for the venue (non-transferrable to a different date), the conflicting event was cancelled.

We had our date penciled in about two weeks after getting engaged and officially booked a month after our engagement. Everything books up fast here so we needed to get on it quickly. We booked October 2016 in early June 2015, spring was already completely booked at that time.

That day haha. Before getting engaged, we’d decided we wanted to get married ASAP after I graduate college. We are long distance right now and I will have to be looking for a teaching job once I graduate, so the more time I have that summer, the better. So once we were engaged, I looked up my graduation date, and we set our wedding date for the next Saturday LOL!

We got engaged June 19, 2015 and by the next night, we had decided on a date. We took my Maid/Matron of Honor out to dinner to celebrate and then asked her how she felt about our wedding being the day before her birthday. She was ecstatic and we decided on 4/22/17!
