We won’t TTC for another 5-7 years. By then we will have been together for 15-17 years. We are only 25 and 27 now. We are financially stable, but want to spend a few more years as a couple enjoying travel, saving money and being with each other.

We started trying on our wedding night. We’re still young both 26, we know we’ve got time. We want to be young parents though.

We were 28 and 26 when we got married and had been together for nearly 8 years. We started TTC 10 months after we had been married and were fortunate enough to be successful on the first try. I had a stable job, DH had been employed at his for six months. It also was looking like he was going to be able to be brought on as a full employee rather than a temporary one. Part of it was timing because of my job (I’m a teacher), part of it was wanting to adjust to that first year of marriage. I also had been on BC and went off of it a month prior to starting to try.
I am currently 30w3d and really glad we waited. There will always be things that pop up unexpectedly (my Brother-In-Law was diagnosed with cancer 2 months before their little guy arrived), but we both wanted some of the major things taken care of (reasonable stability in jobs, bought a house, health insurance coverage, etc). Could we have had a child before this? Yes, but it was nice having that time together and having these pieces in place.
