I changed mine the day after our honeymoon. I took another day off of work to drive around losing my identity. LOL

I changed mine a few days after I returned from my honeymoon.  However, my SIL did not change hers until after she had children, several years after she was married.

@Mariska24:  Maybe she’s not planning on changing it at all.

@Mariska24:  Is she planning to change it? Or she just is going to keep her name?

I changed mine about a month after the wedding, about 2 weeks after our honeymoon. I would have procrastinated on it longer, but we already had another trip planned and I wanted to get my first stamp in my MRS. passport 🙂

I changed mine a few days after our wedding, but it took me the better part of a year to get everything changed.

Ok ladies I don’t even know where to begin to change it…. Go to the DMV? Call all credit cards? Go to bank? Seems like sooooo much work…… Also do you have to get a new passport and social security card?

@weddingbound:  Best place to start is usually DMV and Social Security Adminstriation. Once you have your social and drivers license in your new name, it’s a lot easier to get it changed elsewhere. You will need to change your name on your passport. You also need to change your name with all of your bank accounts and credit cards.

Make sure you bring your marriage certificate (certified copies) whenever you go to change your name in case they need to see it.

Probably about a month and a half after. We didn’t Honeymoon until 2 weeks later so we were already into the 3rd week of being married by the time we got home. It took a few weeks to make my way to the SS office. I ended up having to go twice because I stupidly thought that a copy of our marriage certificate would fly the first time. Oh, how wrong I was.
