Six weeks is on the shorter side of average, I’d say. Ours only took 3 weeks but he quoted us 6-8 weeks. I know people who waited 3+ months for their pictures.

Our photographer states in his contract that he would provide our photos within 30 days.

most photographers around my area take about 8 weeks. I’m a photographer myself and budget about 6-8 weeks. It takes about 25-30 hours to process one wedding… not easy work! I’d say to be content with the fact that they will more than likely be taking their time and doing a good job with your photos; not rushing through them.

We were quoted 5 weeks and we got them 3 weeks after our wedding

4-8 weeks is pretty standard. There is a lost of editing/post production that goes into wedding images (at least 40 hours per wedding). And keep in mind you are likely not his only client.

6-8 weeks approximately is what our contract states.  My husband aims to deliver in 3-4 weeks (or even less), but as soon as we get busy and are doing back to back weddings it gets really hard unless you outsource, which we don’t want to do.

Please don’t assume they’ll be done in 3 weeks. If you’re assuming 3 weeks & it does take the full 6 weeks as stated in the contract, you’ll be disappointed. I would assume 6 weeks & if they come early, great! If not, then they’re right on time. All 5 of my friends who got married recently waited 6-8 weeks for their wedding photos & all of them were exactly on time with what the contract said (all had different photographers).

So, mine had a very different timeline than what others have posted. I was told 3 months, but we received the images 5 months after the wedding and I’m not sure she did much beyond color correction as far as editing.
