At my mom’s we used to put the tree up on Halloween and leave it up until like the 2nd week of Jan. I am thinking about leaving mine up for a little while longer also. I just love looking at the lights!
What about you?

I will take ours down the weekend after new years. I usually take it down over new years but we will be out of town over new years for a wedding.

we usually take it down on new year’s day….
but we’re having a belated Cajun Christmas Party on the 8th…so now I don’t know. I’ll see how it fairs in the next week, if the needed are falling off like crazy, we may keep it up for the party 🙂

@Mrs.LetsGoPens: Excuse my ignorance, but what does the date that you take the tree down have to do with being Orthodox? I am interested 🙂
@TerraWellness: Ohh..it’d be great to leave it up for the party. I am having a 30th Birthday/New Years Eve Party for HUbby. I am definitely leaving it up for that!

We usually take ours down on January 1, but a lot of my family leave theirs up until after the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6.

We put ours up the weekend before Christmas & take it down the day after New Years. I like having it up just long enough to really love it.

We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving and take it down New Year’s Day!

I took all our decorations in the house down yesterday and packed them away. I’ll get the tree box out of the storage building and take down the tree tonight. I have to get back to finishing wedding plans…otherwise I’d probably end up leaving the tree up longer, but I’m going to be really busy the next few weeks until the wedding so I wouldn’t have any other time to take down Christmas stuff.

Traditionally you’re supposed to keep it up until the 6th becasue that is officially when Christmas ends.
I’ll be taking it down then casue they are collecting them on the 7th 😛
