I’m a teacher getting married in August so no time technically as I don’t work in the summer.

I plan to take the day or two before and a week after for the honeymoon. My workplace shuts down for a week at Christmas so I need to save my leave to use for that. Besides, I don’t plan to wait to the last minute to get all the small details in order so I shouldn’t need more than a day or two to make sure everything is good to go πŸ™‚   (I am also taking a week long vacay in May which is why I need to save leave for the Christmas shutdown)

I’m taking off the day before and the week after for the honeymoon. It’ll be 7 business days off. I’m nervous, I leave work for half a day and I come back to 30 fires to put out. Seven days and the office might burn down!

@heathuhhhhwebbbb:  In fact, I am considering taking a half day today because I feel like crap and the only thing keeping me here is the 300+ emails and things to do I’ll have to deal with in the morning…

We’re taking off two or three days before, and then at least two weeks after – perhaps longer if we find that we can’t tear ourselves away from Tahiti!!

I took the week before off (Friday – Friday, so actually 6 work days) and 6 days afterwards for our honeymoon. BEST DECISION EVER. Even though I was crazy organized and had everything almost done, I totally enjoyed the time before (plus we had family coming into town starting on Tuesday). I really needed it to get everything packed up and last minute stuff handled.

I know not everyone can swing it, but if you can, taking a good amount of time off before is awesome.
