i personally think two-two and  half minutes for both of them together, so it doesn’t really matter an extra thirty seconds or so on one or other  of  them.

ours are really short – like 5 lines each, so im guessing a minute or so per person. i voted for a minute.

We’re doing personal vows that will be about 30 seconds each, and then we’re doing standard vows, where the officiant reads them and we say “I do,” which will be maybe 20 seconds each.  So the whole shebang will be maybe 2 minutes.  We want them long enough to be meaningful, but we’re not really into sharing super personal details in front of a hundred people, so they’re not that long.

2 minutes is a long time to be making individual vows. That’s a lot of stuff (or really specific stuff) to be promising. Ours are 5 lines for the combined vows and 3 lines each for our individual vows. Probably total about 1-2 minutes for both of us.

Say them out loud and see how long they seem if you were the one listening to them.

For me the longer the were the harder it was to 1) remember 2) not cry.

Mine were 30 seconds and I couldnt make it without stopping because i started crying hard! (I suck)
