We’re sending invites this week, and I’m super anxious to get back RSVPs. I’m one of those people who send them back right away, but I know there’s a whole crowd out there who don’t understand the importance of these things and wait until this last minute.
How long did it take for you to start getting RSVPs? How quickly did you get the majority? How many were chasing down at the end?

@MsGinkgo: I put our invites in the mail a week ago this past Sunday, so MOST had them by Wednesday/Thursday (near and far). We started receiving them back last Thursday, and have had about 12 since then total.
Out of 150 that went out, 12 the first few days seemed like a lot, and pretty exciting.
However, they have til April 4th 🙂 I expect a rush, a lull, and then another ‘last minute’ rush. Maybe I will be wrong!!

@MsGinkgo: we started getting ours about a week and a half after we put our invites in the mail. we got them in in a slow trickle basically the whole time, up until the deadline, and had about 5 people/families we had to call to get a verbal RSVP from that never RSVP’d

@MsGinkgo: Our RSVPs have been coming in all over the place. I just hate that we’ve set up a website and gave phone # for people to RSVP, but people are just telling others (like my parents) that they will be there. It’s not that big of a deal I guess but it makes it more difficult to track. Ugh.
I used to be one of those people who waited until last minute. NOT ANYMORE! From now on, I am going to RSVP asap!

@MsGinkgo: We put ours in the mail at the post office on Saturday. We got about five back the following week. So far I am overjoyed with the immediate response. We have got 30 of our 150 people RSVP within 2 weeks.

I sent mine out at the beginning of the week, and by the end of the week I was getting some. Over the first two weeks I was getting RSVPS every day. It was great.
And then it began to trail off, and I would get one or two every couple of days. A couple weeks before deadline I was getting even fewer. Then the last week it picked up a bit again.
I still had to contact around 10 or so people. Lame!

@lina010: @OUgal0004: yay! that makes me super happy. I’m really hoping to get some quickly.

I feel like I got back several the week after I sent out invites, then they trickled in for a while, then more the last week until the date we asked for them back. A couple came back after that, and several people never sent them back at all.
I really loved getting those RSVPs back though! Every day getting the mail was exciting and everytime I saw one of those little envelopes it was like a little gift. Yay! wedding guests. 🙂

Our invites went out on the 4th and started to arrive the next day. our poor guests have only til the 21st! But seriously, they’ve had the save the date since September so I think three weeks is enough time to decide whether they can make it or not and get back to us – and we didn’t send RSVP cards, just set up an email address so it should be even easier for people. One week to go and only about a third have RSVPed so I hope the rest get onto it ASAP! Although we already know most are coming. At the moment we’re looking at about 95% acceptance, eep! Including 36 of my extended family who are travelling either from interstate or NZ, and a large contingent of my parents friends all coming from NZ. So much for the 80/60 rule of thumb 😉

@MsGinkgo: I didn’t hardly have to chase any down- maybe 3 out of 134! My people were really good about RSVPing. There was a surge at the beginning then a bunch before the “respond by” date.
