I’m not TTC…but I’ve been on the pill for about 5 years and have been bad about scheduling a yearly to re-up my prescription and so I’ve been off the pill for 3 months now. I haven’t gotten a period back yet.
I did go on the pill because of irregular periods though to help regulate them. I had been told that going on the pill would help regulate periods and hopefully get my body used to it and it would stay on track if I went off…I don’t think that worked for me.

Weddingobsessed: I didn’t see a doctor – I spent a ridiculous amount of time googling what the issue could be and everything I read said up to 12 months so I waited (we weren’t actively trying to get pregnant). My doctor was in NYC and I was doing a one year internship in Chicago so I figured when I got back I’d see what was up – I got home in August, our wedding was in October and I thought ‘okay I will wait for that’ but that month it started and came regularly after that. Like clockwork – and we’ve been married 2 years this Oct… I’d say don’t stress but that would be hypocritical – just do your best to be gentle with yourself.

I had regular 27 day cycles before the pill. On the pill I obviously had 28 day cycles. I took my doctor’s advice and made sure to stop the pill at the end of a pack.
I just had my first cycle off the pill and I went RIGHT back to a 27 day cycle. Everything went back to the way it was, even the tiny zit I always get on my chin about four days before my period starts. My doctor told me it could take a while and to call her if things weren’t regular by 6 months out, but my body picked right back up where it left off.

sweetchiquita12: MissRustic: We are all on similar schedules! I went off the pill at the end of February and currently on cycle day 12, so no idea yet how regular or irregular my cycle will be. We are planning to start TTC in July or August as well!
My period was very, very regular back in the day, but that was also, like… 11 years ago. So we’ll see!

I was on the pill for 7 years and came off in October to prepare for TTC in January. My cycles returned to normal right away. Had a 31 day cycle in November and 30 day cycle in December. Got pregnant our first month TTC in January.

MissRustic: I will for sure!!! Maybe we will be on those bump love posts together one day 🙂
howsweetitis: I’m also super curios to see how my periods will be since its been almost 10 years I have been on the pill! the only symptom I have had so far off the pill is headaches. I hope they go away soon

sweetchiquita12: Whoa, what are the chances, I was just coming back to post on this thread! I have not had any headaches, sorry you’re dealing with that!!
No period updates yet (which is probably a good thing, since I’m only on CD20), but I am temping and charting and using OPKs, and I am like 99% sure I ovulated this month! Reassuring to think that my hormones seem to be getting back in the swing of things! Assuming everything’s right I ovulated on CD18, so I’m thinking it’ll be somewhere in the neighborhood of a 32 day cycle this time.
How are you ladies doing?

Nine months. For the year prior to getting off of it, I switched to a different pill and would only get my period like one day every two months. I always had regularity prior to this, so I’m blaming the pill not my body.

howsweetitis: LOL! so weird! I actually just saw the reponse in my inbox and for some reason they dont come to my phone only when I come to the site. I have only been using a period tracker app on my phone. I havn’t been serious into it yet since I dont plan to TTC until August.
