We both admit we got the “feeling” that everyone talks about when we were sitting across from each other on our first date. When you know, you know. ๐Ÿ™‚

It was about a year for me. I had a lot going on in my life and wasn’t thinking about marriage. It was like one day I woke up and a switch flipped and I couldn’t be without him.

I answered I knew within 6 months. In reality I figured he was the one in the first month but I kept being reassured and finally I definitely knew he was the one. =)

We met under kinda weird circumstances, in July of 2010. Then we were apart for a few weeks and then said we were “official” in late August. I knew on Halloween. So technically about 2 1/2 months.

It was funny, I just suddenly looked over at him and it seemed to click, like ‘oh, I see, yea, this is awesome and could really work, I could get used to this, I could handle this for a long long time, I could do this forever.’

We said I love you in November, got engaged in December, and got married in May ๐Ÿ™‚

I voted other, here’s my reason:

I’ve known Boyfriend or Best Friend for 6 years now and he is 13.5 years older (I’m 20) so yeah I was young when I first met him and he was dating someone else. I had a crush on him for the longest time and we started dating when I turned 18. I think secretly I knew the entire time but it became really apparent probably when we first started dating that he was the man I wanted to marry.

So I don’t know if that counts but I pretty much always knew I wanted to BE with him, then when we started dating I knew I wanted to marry him.

Right away.  The first date was so nerve wracking, I didn’t know how I felt until I got home again.   After the second date, I knew for sure.   We’ve been inseparable since then.

we knew we were very compatible the day we met.  we met in a starbucks (parking lot actually) and ended up having coffee together for 4 hours.  only took a couple of weeks to fall in love with each other and he proposed within 3 months of meeting.

We had been friends for years and when we liked each other it was always the wrong time for one of us. Then one year after a really bad relationship broke up he was there for me, through everything awful that happened. I knew I wanted to marry him almost right away, thought I never said anything about it due to the fact that it is a scary thing to say. But when we started talking about marriage before our engagement, I told him I always knew.

It was a few years into the relationship before I knew.  We started dating when we were 17, marriage wasn’t even on my radar at that point.  We were just young and having fun.  About 3 years into it I realized I couldn’t imagine living the rest of my life without him, and that he’s the one I want to marry.

Not to sound like a downer but I’m still not sure if I believe there is only one person out there for you. I think love is powerful but there’s also an element of choice.  There are 6.8 billion ppl in the world. There has to be at least 8 just as good matches (maybe even better!) for me. BUT at this time and place and where I am in my life, I might’ve met someone special enough for me to choose & devote myself to.

But to answer your question, I didn’t “know” right away. Maybe 2.5 years into our relationship did I really believe that marriage could be reality for us. It’s still in the making ๐Ÿ™‚

Within the first month or two. Darling Husband knew he wanted to marry me only 3 weeks or so after making it official.

First date. Completely smitten. Granted, we were already friends and had been communicating a lot via text/email and getting to know eachother a lot. Not even with the intention to date, just because we had so much in common. So going into the “date” I was really thinking of it as friends. During the date, it so apparent that it was SO much more. After our first date, we knew. And there was no hanky panky or kissing involved yet ๐Ÿ˜‰

I knew he was special on the first date, but it grew into serious love within a few weeks. When things are right, they just “click”, and life just gets a little bit easier simply because you know you’ve got that special somebody by your side.
