It was a little over one month…we had been friends for a couple months before we started dating, but now we are going on 3 years!

About a month and a half. I knew it a few days before, but we were just laying in his bed relaxing and he asked me “How do you know you love someone?” and I told him “Your heart just feels bigger when you think of them. What about you?” And he said “You think about them all the time and they make you happy.” So I asked him if he felt that way about me and he said yes and my heart skipped a beat and I told him I loved him and he said it back and we cuddled more ๐Ÿ™‚

Almost exactly four months to the day of when we started dating. I can tell you the exact date, too. Dec. 19 2009.

It was after he’d spent the evening cuddling with me while I had food poisoning. I figured that was as good a time as any to let him know he was a keeper.

I said it to my Fiance first probably about 3 weeks after we first met. I was feeling it and thinking that he seemed to be feeling it too and honestly it just slipped out unexpectedly while we were standing in his bedroom at his apartment. Of course he said it back and then I wondered if he really meant it as well, but he did. He was just the type of guy that wanted me to make the first move to be sure I was ready.

It was a couple of months, and it was totally by accident.

We were long-distance for the first several months we were dating and we’d visit each other one weekend a month. We’d just spent the weekend together in New Orleans and I’d called to let him know I got home safe after the 6 and a bit hour drive home and a stop at Mom’s to see the her puppy. I was leaving him a message on voice mail and, as I was saying ‘call me or I’ll see you online’ or whatever, I also said ‘love you’ as you do. Only then I realized what I’d said, freaked out a bit (all recorded on his voice mail, btw) and couldn’t remember how to turn off my cell phone fast enough.

Waiting to hear back from him was torture–I was certain I’d screwed it up since it was so soon and I was trying to be so “good” and not jump the gun, lol. Turns out we’d both been carefully not saying it all weekend (which probably explains my slip, I’d stopped worrying about it once I wasn’t actually facing him) and he felt the same. (Obviously, I suppose, since we’re talking marriage and all, now.)

I literally got goosebumps reading all these posts! I love me some love stories ๐Ÿ™‚

We were a few weeks into dating. I was working crazy long hours so I was always falling asleep when I was with him (literally fell asleep on our second date in the restaurant haha). Well I had fallen asleep on him again but we were at his place on the couch at least. I remember waking up mortified that I had done it again. I was so apologetic and scrambling to put on my shoes so I could leave to go home so he could go to sleep too (it was like 1am). Instead he kissed me and said he was so nervous to tell me something but he’d been holding it in because he knew I was tired. I asked him what it was (holding my breath because I was hoping it was the L word but also scared it was something like…I can’t be with a narcoleptic lol) and he blurted out that he loved me and I teared up and said it back and really meant it. We say it pretty much every day and on the days when we don’t…it just doesn’t feel right. Those days are verrry few and far between.

Well, while I remember when it happened, about 3-4 months into the realtionship, we have disagreements about who really said it first. It happened one evening after “sexy time” and when we were laying there, he said. “you totally said I love you” And I had no recollection of this at all, but then again I was a little preoccupied. “No I didn’t” and he just said “Yeah, you did, but I love you too so it’s okay.” and it kinda went from there. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s been 2.5 years and I still don’t think I said it first, but oh well, doesn’t matter anymore Lol.

Just about one month after we met. We were walking home from our first night out with friends as an official couple and we were just goofing around and laughing. I think at that point I was doing the “Bambi” impression of women trying to walk in heels on cobblestone and and as he was laughing he turned to me with the biggest smile on his face and blurted “I just love you SO much!” It was so sincere and adorable. Damn I love him.

Our relationship started on 3/6/08, and we first said I love you to each other (he said it first) on 8/8/08.  It was a beautiful and romantic moment.  I never worried about the timing.

About three months in, we booked a trip (our first together) to visit my parents (who fly south for the winter). After we booked it and were cuddling on the couch, he said it first ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank goodnes, because I had been dying to for weeks but didn’t want to push it!
