I have plenty of time…
I wear my hair in a chin-length bob type of cut (my hair is naturally curly, so it doesn’t really look like a bob).
I don’t need my hair to be down to my bra strap or anything, but maybe to my shoulders. I’d like a little bit to work with. I was thinking maybe start about a year out? I can always get it cut to shoulder length.

I started growing mine out as soon as we got engaged… but my hair grows slowly. We have a 19 month engagement, and I’m hoping I don’t get too sick of it by then!

I had my hair chin-length at 21 months before the wedding and started growing it out. I had to chop it off 3x in those 21 months. And my hair was longer than necessary for the updo I ended up getting. My hair does tend to grow quickly though. So you definitely don’t need that long to do it if your hair grows relatively quickly. But it also depends on what type of hair style you want.

Besides my monthly trim, I haven’t seriously cut my hair in three years. It’s down to my elbows. I have plenty of hair to work with, and will probably even cut some off here in the next few weeks just to make sure it looks really healthy.

I didn’t intentionally grow mine, but I haven’t had a serious cut in about two years. I have had it trimmed. It’s currently down my back and after the wedding I will be getting it cut with enough to donate 12″ and still have it come to my shoulders or just past. My hair grows rather fast so I wasn’t too worried about having enough.
When I was younger and wanted to grow my hair out I used to drink Knox geletine mixed in a hot drink. They also make a formula just for hair and nails but I couldn’t find it at the time. Prenatals also help.

My hair grows really fast. I had it in a bob when we got engaged 13 months ago and have cut it twice since and it’s back to just past my shoulders. Although last time I went for a cut, she thinned my hair to nothing. When I gathered my hair into a ponytail, it literally looked like a rat tail. I was so upset and I never care what my hair looks like (I’m more of a tomboy.) Anyway, it’s starting to thicken out again, and I still have a year to go before the big day 🙂

I started out with a bob/just above the shoulder, took me 8 months to get it to this length: I also trimmed it every 6 weeks.
